1. Storage of diamond belt

The storage of abrasive belts is critical to the use of abrasive belts, and it has a particularly large impact on wide abrasive belts. Ideal storage conditions and reasonable storage methods can ensure that the abrasive belt is used in an appropriate state.

1. Temperature and humidity requirements

Abrasive belts should not be stored in places with large changes in temperature and humidity. The ideal temperature is: 18-220C; the ideal humidity is: 40-65%. Too high temperature will cause the adhesive to age and reduce the service life of the abrasive belt. Synthetic fiber-based abrasive belts (such as polyester cloth abrasive belts) are sensitive to cold and cannot be stored in a cold storage.

Too high or too low humidity will cause certain deformation of the abrasive belt, which will reduce the bonding strength of the adhesive sand layer of the abrasive belt. Especially if the humidity is too high, the impact on the abrasive belt is particularly serious. Except for waterproof abrasive belts, general abrasive belts are prone to warping and wrinkling when used after being damp. In addition, when the wet belt is being ground, the abrasive is easy to adhere to the surface of the belt, which reduces the service life of the belt. High temperature and low humidity have a greater impact on the paper abrasive belt, which makes the paper abrasive belt brittle and easy to break during use.

2. Storage

The warehouse where the abrasive belts are stored should be cool, dry and ventilated; the abrasive belts should be placed on the shelves, not on the ground; the shelves should be kept at a distance of about 200-500mm from the ground and walls, and avoid getting close to heat dissipation. And drainage device; try not to open the unused belt. Do not stack heavy objects on the abrasive belt packaging box to avoid creases and cracks on the abrasive belt.

2. Treatment of abrasive belt before use

The storage of the abrasive belt is important, but if the abrasive belt cannot be properly handled before use, its performance will still be seriously affected.

1. The suspension of abrasive belt

The belt should be hung for at least 2-5 days before use. The purpose is to eliminate curling caused by packaging.

Hang the unpacked belt on a pipe with a diameter of 100-200mm or a special belt support frame. The length of the pipe should be greater than the width of the sanding belt, otherwise the sanding belt will easily fall off or produce a bell mouth; the pipe should be in a horizontal state, otherwise the edges of the sanding belt will be easily damaged.

The ambient temperature and humidity of the suspended abrasive belt should meet the storage conditions of the abrasive belt. The simple way is to use a few 40W or 64W bulbs to keep them dry in a closed room.

2. Visual inspection

Before using the suspended abrasive belt, perform necessary visual quality inspections to check whether the joints of the abrasive belt are smooth and firm; whether there are holes, sand blocks, lack of sand, glue spots, wrinkles, etc. on the surface of the abrasive belt; whether the edges of the abrasive belt are neat, If there are cracks, there are small cracks on the edge, which will not affect the use after cutting (cut into an arc).
